Hello there! Welcome to my fashion and lifestyle internet diary. Regularly I post about my day to day regarding personal experiences, but of course sharing my outlook on fashion trends and building my wardrobe around them and myself. I do post the odd foodie related posts, plus my finds and discoveries of amazing independent business in my local city of Cardiff.

So I'm back with a review today and it's for this wonderful little number pictured above, the Smashbox #shapematters Palette. For my birthday I was gifted a voucher to spend in Boots and after looking around I stumbled across the Smashbox counter and thought I would have a little look.

I've always been interested in Smashbox make up has I always heard such positive things about it, but to be honest with you it's a bit out of my price bracket, but saying that I thought it's my Birthday and I have a gift voucher to spend so lets go nuts! After looking at everything and swatching everything I really couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted, but the lady at the counter asked me if I needed any help and I explained that I wanted something that I would get a lot of use out but as I'm new to Smashbox I don't know what would best suit me and this is when the lady showed me this palette. The palette holds the value of £60, but was going for £30 and Boots was also doing a further 10% off, so I had to snatch up that bargain as quick as possible. Has you can see the palette holds a ray of different product inside including 9 eyeshadows, 2 contour powders, 2 highlights, 2 eyebrow powders, 1 fixing brow wax and a double ended brush.

Has you can see I did swatches of all 9 eyeshadows, there is 6 matte finish eyeshadows and 3 shimmer eyeshadows. My thoughts on them? They have a good colour pay off,  they're also really easy to blend and soft to work with. I don't normally use brushes from palettes as I always find them fiddly to work with and they never seem to pick up the product that well, but this little double ended brush works wonders, you can use it both for detailed and also for blending.
The contour powders are also easy to blend and soft to apply just like the eyeshadows, I can't wait to use them for a makeup tutorial for my YouTube channel. Over all I'm over the moon with this palette it has all your basics inside of it to create many different looks and it's a handy palette if I was to ever go traveling!

What is your favourite makeup palette at the moment?
Much Love, Charlotte .xo
